We have used PetSafe collars and their floor protection system for many years and until recently the system has been a great success. However, the original collars were showing their age and both had failed in the last six months. During this time, both replacement collars also failed and we have been using the third collar for our two dogs since the beginning of April. We finished installing the fence about 3 weeks ago. We have two dogs (a Miniature Schnauzer and a Wirehaired Pointer) and are fenced on about 3 acres. To install the wire we used an edger, pushed the wire into the ground and carefully used the blunt end of a wooden spatula to ensure the wire was as low as possible. The unit has worked well so far and I even brought a different collar/receiver for an old lazy Bullmastiff which I didn't initially feel was necessary .
