Review on πŸ”§ TEKTRO Disc Brake Pads by Victor Ceja

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Universal pads with a good price-performance ratio.

These pads came with the Tektro HD-275 brakes on my 2019 Trek Marlin 5. Considering my own heavy weight of about 275 pounds, they gave pretty good stopping power. The front end was quite crisp, although the back end felt a bit softer at the lever. However, the performance of the pads has always been good. This summer I've climbed to the top of the Schweitzer ski resort, descended a lot, and the brakes never let up or made much noise - just a slight creaking at the foot of long, moderately speed descents. The levers on my Tektro hydraulic brakes required 2 fingers to provide enough stopping power, which meant less reliable handlebar grip for me on rock gardens and technical sections. After replacing the brakes on my brother's bike with Shimano MT200 hydraulics, I found his levers. gave a much better feel and performance than my stock Tektro hydraulics and as a bonus the E10.11 pads also fit Shimano. I ended up replacing my Marlin with an MT200 and keeping the E10.11 pads and now my brakes give me a power and feel that I can't handle even on the steepest and fastest hills I've dared to attempt Slowed down many times over. Hardtail with just a finger lever that makes riding safer and more confident on more technical stuff. Are those premium, powerful DH brakes? Absolutely not. But for the price, they're hard to beat in a versatile all-mountain/trail brake pad with progressive bite and low noise.
