Review on Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (Model A09E) by Amit Amit ᠌

Not everything is so bad, the average purchase in quality.

In general, the lens is for ordinary people. Or for pop-style weddings, which, as you know, are failed photographers who have followed the beaten path, repeating each other. Here they will appreciate this lens + because of its more or less attractive price. The lens does not at all live up to the same Minolta both in terms of the quality of the construct and (most importantly) in terms of design. For the drawing is really banal, reportage and information. It has no "character", it does not have a pleasant blur that does not turn into distracting ripples and overly deliberate spots. Of course, the race for blur and aperture is the lot of the townsfolk, who love to blur the background into snot (not being able to make it part of the story) and admire "wow, how cool!" and who would simply adore this lens if it had a "hole" even wider up to 1.8. Or who make banal portraits in studios in the style of some of the photo examples here: people like wax shiny mannequins - completely banal pop retouching. But where it is justified, or where aperture is really required, the bokeh turns out to be very mediocre and the gain remains only with aperture. Well, of course, the lack of 24 mm is still quite felt. Do not think that "maybe it will come down, maybe it will be fine." Will not. You will feel it later, in a string of days, and this seemingly trifle will constantly be missed. So there won't be much versatility. And in the end, I just want to warn you - there is a high probability that you will cool down to this lens. It turned out - neither there / nor here. My review is objective because I did not pay for this lens - they gave it to me just like that and I drove it for a whole week, trying to justify it for myself. But it didn’t work out :( Tamron always has it, unfortunately. It always seems that they finally did great, but in the totality of aspects it always falls short of the desired level. But it’s quite nice in the hand. focus operation.(Sony a7 III)

Pros
  • Stability of work, "grip"
Cons
  • Mediocre drawing, spotty-rippled "bokeh". For those looking for this lens, it is important to read the warning below.
