You need to keep clapping

I guess my hands don't always clap loud enough for the clapper to hear me. I have to get close to it and watch the red lights to see if it heard me. Sometimes I have to clap 5 or 6 times for it to hear all the claps. I have other devices hooked up to the power strip it's connected to, when I unhook them sometimes the light clicks they make activate the clapper. When I'm in bed I'll tap my cell phone on the headboard which activates the clapper, lights on, lights off. I'm glad I got the clapper, it's a great convenience for me.
