[Edit 4/13/2019] I ordered a 2nd monitor (exactly the same model) but as it turns out the 2nd monitor I received is slightly different: 1) The 2nd monitor has no green power light on the return . 2) When the screen is on the 2nd monitor stays black unlike the 1st which turns on with a blue screen. 3) The colors on both monitors are slightly different by default. The 1st monitor has lower saturation but is brighter, the 2nd monitor has better saturation but seems less bright (regardless of setting). 4) The 2nd monitor speakers have a slight hiss at some low and high frequencies. . The former sounds normal, with no crackling or hissing at any frequency. 5) The OSD icons are slightly different, although the options are exactly the same. 6) So far I have not been able to get both screens to look the same when in use. exactly the same settings on both. I can bring them closer by using different settings on both8). The Shadow Ghost device I had couldn't display the second monitor's native resolution of 2560x1600 (it crops to a weird 4:3 ratio and the image shrinks). Although it works fine on a regular computer. The first monitor works great with both the Shadow and my home PC. this is the clear winner. I have come to the conclusion that these two monitors (although physically almost identical) were not made at the same time. The first appears to be from a newer batch and the second appears to be older, possibly with older firmware. I'm returning the second one mainly because it doesn't display properly with Shadow Ghost and it lacks the green power indicator that I like. ———— I had low expectations for this 10.1 inch 2K HDR monitor as the description seemed too good to be true. The packaging it came in was decent - not apple quality packaging but good! The default settings for this monitor were fine, but after playing around with the menus and figuring out which settings looked best I ended up with the following: Brightness menu: Brightness - 70 Contrast - 60 Black Level - 50 looks completely black in the dark areas of the image without the graying effect, but you can also lose a lot of detail, so be careful.) ECO - Movie (This mode offers adequate saturation and brightness/contrast, but you can try other settings to see what you like.) DCR - OFFSharpness - 2 [Edit 2019-04-13] Also try Brightness 60-100 - Contrast 60-100 - Black Level 0 - Eco 10. Color Temperature: sRGB Reset Menu: H DR Mode (Auto or Off) See in this mode some colors like greens and blues look nice and rich, but overshadow the reds too much. With all the saturation, a lot of detail is lost, so I don't recommend using this mode. [Edit 04/13/2019] HDR works on Windows 10! You must enable HDR playback in the display settings. Enabling this feature in Windows 10 makes the screen look washed out, but once you enable HDR on the Superfect monitor things look more correct. It also enables the HDR option on some YouTube videos that use HDR. However, it was still difficult to find the right setting that works for all videos. I kept changing the settings for SDR video and HDR video. it still wasn't the ideal solution. Miscellaneous menu: Low Blue Light - 0 (This may be useful if you are affected by blue light. The higher the number, the warmer or less blue light you will notice.) FreeSync - OFF. Unless you have an AMD graphics card with FreeSync support, I don't recommend messing around with this option. It won't do you any good and make the monitor go crazy, flicker on and off, and it's really troublesome to get the monitor back to normal. You have been warned =) OD - OFF Why is he so good? Resolution and image quality are convincing. It reminds me of the Retina screen on my MacBook Pro - very sharp and you can't see the pixels. The pixel density is very high for a screen of this size with a resolution of 2560x1600. The problem you will encounter when using this resolution is that it is a 16:10 ratio. So if your device doesn't support this resolution, the image will look a bit stretched (e.g. circles will look a bit oval). It's basically a PC or Mac monitor - I've tested both platforms and it looks great. On the plus side, the viewing angle is very wide and you can use it in vertical or portrait orientation to read documents or develop code without fading effect. If you love the screen on your latest Samsung or Apple tablet, this monitor won't disappoint. I also connected this monitor to a Raspberry Pi 3 and everything looked fine - my only concern is stretching the desktop in 16:10 format. Small. I haven't played with the Raspberry Pi settings to see if I can scale things properly, but it might be possible. Also, I've used this monitor with Shadow Ghost (http://shadow.tech) and it supports the full 2560 x 1600 resolution. If you don't see this default resolution in your Windows 10 display settings, all you have to do is restart your Shadow computer and it should recognize the new monitor's resolution. This monitor's speakers are tiny, but surprisingly, they don't sound bad. about as good as your phone speakers. Luckily there's a headphone jack, so you can plug in your own speakers if you'd like. There are two HDMI inputs that support a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz. I don't know what the refresh rate is, but it's fine for watching movies and games. There is no lag when typing with a mouse or keyboard, so everything feels fluid. As a video playback test, I went to YouTube and watched an 8K video. If you have an internet connection fast enough to play 4K or 8K videos, give this monitor a try and be amazed. It's really beautiful, and since the screen is small, you won't notice as many compression artifacts as you would on a large HD monitor. You can't see what you click on. Once you remember where the buttons are, using them becomes a little easier/faster. The bezel has rounded corners on the inside of the bezel and cuts off the corners of the screen very little. You lose a few pixels in the corners, but it's not a big deal. The inputs are on the left edge of the monitor, so the HDMI and USB power cables will definitely stick out to the side. To minimize this problem, choose angled adapters that route the cable either down or to the back of the monitor. It also prevents you from mounting multiple monitors side by side with no landscape gaps. You could probably create two monitors using the rotation settings in the graphics settings, but if you're using a third, getting the bezels flush with each other could be a problem. No VESA mount. You'll have to find another solution if you want to mount it with a VESA compatible mount. The included stand is quite cheap, but works perfectly. I suggest taking a look at the Revain Basics tablet stand or something similar. If you're really smart you can use something like a clip-on tablet holder to attach that screen to something else like a tripod or arm. Conclusion: Can I recommend this monitor? YUP! If you're looking for something lightweight and portable with great image quality, check out this $120-$130 monitor. It will not disappoint you if you want to use it with your computer. However, for other applications where you particularly need 16:9, consider a Full HD (1080p) monitor instead. Stretching can drive you crazy. Most modern PC games allow you to adjust the resolution to suit your monitor, unlike console gaming systems which typically run at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K. but nothing in between. It's a shame that this monitor can't compensate for a Full HD signal by offering a letterbox or something similar. In any case, there are many different ways to use this monitor, so give it a try for yourself - look for reviews on YouTube to see it up close and then decide if it's right for you. Hooray!
