Review on UPERFECT Computer Portable Monitors Raspberry 15.6", 60Hz, Blue Light Filter, Wall Mountable, Glossy Screen, Built-In Speakers, DS15607 by Puneet Moore

Some M1 compatibility issues, but thanks to excellent after-sales support, they will be solved!

I was looking for a portable monitor for my 16" M1 Macbook Pro and first tried a 15.6" 1080p display from a reputable manufacturer. This display disappointed with its dull colors and fuzzy text (although I suspect recent Retina displays may have ruined my expectations!). I decided to try this 4K monitor although I was a bit skeptical that I had never heard of the manufacturer. When I received the device I was disappointed to find that it didn't work well with my M1 Macbook - for some reason macOS thought the default resolution was 1280 x 1024; although I could select 3840x2160 in the display settings, the text was too small and no scaling options were available. Thinking I was doing something wrong I tried connecting it to my Intel Macbook and the display worked great with all the expected scaling options that macOS shows for other monitors. I emailed the customer support address listed in the user manual and received a response within 24 hours that the monitor has some compatibility issues with the M1 Mac, but an updated version is available that fixes this issue. They quickly sent me a replacement to test and I was confident it was working great now. All correspondence with the support team has been extremely pleasant and I have been very impressed with how quickly everything has been dealt with (especially compared to some of the big manufacturers I have dealt with). Within a week of receiving the original product, the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. The display itself has excellent picture quality with vibrant colors and is convenient with a single USB-C connection for video and power. A few areas for improvement could be an increase in default brightness (when you first connect a display it defaults to too low a brightness setting, but luckily you only have to deal with switching up once) and a better way to keep the monitor in portrait mode. Also, the user manual has precise instructions on where and how to hold the monitor, which makes me a little worried about the durability of the product, but I'm sure if there are any issues, the excellent customer service will help. You can help solve the problem.
