Review on Wi-Fi signal amplifier (repeater) TP-LINK TL-WA860RE, white by Micha Szymaski ᠌

Poor quality, not suitable for use.

Very buggy, it's a pity that you can't insert a picture of a wonderful ping from a laptop to a router (Zyxel 4G III) through this device. Dips up to 3000ms! Jumps from 3, immediately up to 700 and 1800, and this is when receiving a signal from the router by 50%! I have no words, only emotions, only what I read that it was possible to install WRT firmware on it saved me from breaking it on the asphalt, but I still have to bother and dance with a tambourine (there is no time to figure it out). Moreover, communication failures begin absolutely spontaneously, for some time it works perfectly, then problems begin. There are people on the TPlinka forum with similar problems, but the manufacturer does nothing. The latest firmware was released on 08/27/14 (for rev. V1), the manufacturer simply "scored" on the support of this device. I tried to assign a dynamic and static IP to it, changed the channel width, assigned a different name to this point, different from the router, tried all the settings, including resetting to factory settings - still buggy + after the start of "failures" in connection, the devices fall off its network and can not connect back, although the network is visible. Here is a quote from the "brother in misfortune" support forum: "I noticed that when using it for a long time, the device freezes and does not connect users. The signal is 50% from the main router (TL-WDR3500)."

Pros
  • beautiful appearance
Cons
  • Glitchy work Work out of the box is guaranteed with 50% probability (for roulette lovers).
