I ended up just using gaskets. I cleaned the carburetor and used original parts. The fuel pump wasn't exactly the right size, so I didn't use it. I replaced the float assembly but ended up leaking gas into the carburetor because it needed a different adjustment. So I went back to camp. My 2001 3.0 Mercruiser carburetor is pretty good. There was just some ethanol paste that needed cleaning. Yes I used Seafoam fuel additive but the fuel went bad after 3 weeks. I also made sure the flash hider was cleaned. Runs great now. Wouldn't have been idle before.
