First, second, third impression

First of all, there is an iPhone mark on the box. So far it has been pointless. I have a Samsung Note 10+ that seems to be fully functional with the 750i. I need a good, reliable, portable GPS for work and play. I still hope Garmin releases a handheld GPS that works as advertised. The 680t is a random product with obvious flaws that Garmin ignores. Perhaps both Garmin engineers are busy for hours. I find it absurd that the 750i doesn't have USB3, it's still limited to 32GB of external storage and the batteries have to be charged in the device itself (there's no separate charger). I mainly use bike, motorcycle and geotagged photos. The Montana 680 handlebar mount does not fit the 750i. Also no case available. Each launch of the 750i triggers a camera flash and requires skipping a $$$ link activation. The menus are less customizable. The grid is always 4X6 and the background is always white. The touchscreen is better than my Note 10+. A swipe down or a press of the power button brings up the status menu, which is well done with sensible controls and information. I'm not a fan of mixing handheld GPS with the phone, but the experiments have been positive. It is helpful to get the current weather conditions by pairing. Overall better than the previous 680. Still to be checked if pairing with virb ultra 30 and tempe causes the same issues as the 680t. 29 SEPTEMBER. The quick menu below shows the second icon instead of the home icon/screen by default. I had the virb icon second, so the device tries to connect to virb (Ultra 30 in my case), can't find it and freezes. So I'm trying to position the home icon in the second position so that the device is on the home screen when it boots. Garmin does not allow the home icon to move from the first position. Also, if the device loses contact with virb, the device will be locked. Notice "Virb could not be found. Search further? YES/NO does not prevent the device from being locked. I wish Garmin would take their handhelds seriously. JANUARY 9 - The update ended the sophistication. Other problems remain. I like the screen a lot. Easy to clean and leaves no fingerprints. It's annoying to have to load a rarely used feature on the home screen to use it and then delete it. I created a profile and named it "Everyone". Downloaded all the features I could use in alphabetical order (took an hour). I can now access all features by switching to the Everyone profile and then back (like in previous Montanas). Finally there are bar mounts. There is no case yet or an alternative way to charge the batteries.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
