If you have the patience to put film negatives in the pouch provided, this device will accurately restore those images. A little film processing afterwards is probably appropriate, but even if you have prints from these negatives, some post-scan processing is likely to be required. There is a separate application for slides and again the same correct results. A photo app is pretty bad though. The scanned results leave jagged edges around the scanned photo which is clearly not as sharp as the original photo and this requires a LOT of effort not only to remove the blocked edges but also to sharpen the scan. Scanning a photo directly will give you much better results. However, a very useful tool for restoring old family slides and negatives.
