Works great. If you can get the dashboard you want, it's a pretty easy task. If you're worried about how far it goes, it's smaller than the OEM sockets in my Silverado, but it's also thicker, so I made the hole wider to fit through the hole. It's a little bigger than my GM sockets, so I shaved off the edge of the dash hole until it fit. I didn't use any wires or fuses as I had native fused wiring under the hood.2. You don't need to screw the screw all the way in if it holds up well halfway to the exhaust port. All you have to overcome are two USB cables, not afraid to disconnect. There are no great forces.3. If you want it as close to the dashboard as possible, you can remove the cover.
