Bike started right away

I suspected my fuel pump had failed as my bike would not start, spark was good, battery was fully charged. I squirted some petrol into the intake manifold, pushed the starter and it started immediately. It only worked for a few seconds but everything else turned out to be fine except fuel. It's not easy to replace, Harley's to blame, it's all in the gas tank. After installing a new fuel pump on my bike it started right up and worked great.
