These are great everyday pencils. These are not artist pens but they are better and brighter than many I have seen and used. On top of that, the price is fantastic when you consider it. The box comes with a sharpener, but the packaging is of poor quality and easy to disassemble. So plan to put your pens in a different container once you open the box. I've read on here that the pens aren't "bright" enough, but I believe for the colored pencil type they are. They are neither too hard nor too soft but should not be used by very young children as they break easily. All in all great pens for the price. Not art pencils but great for regular everyday crafts and painting.
