If I were to rate this product on its own merits alone I would give it 5 stars. This is an amazing concept with so much potential. But in order to use this potential, instructions are needed. The problem is that I've been knitting on a loom for a long time. I know how to use looms, toss and drop, caliber and size. I know many weaving and knitting websites and have many resources. I was totally shocked and thrown when I opened the box. The instructions for this loom are not rubbish. They are an 8.5 x 11 single-sided glossy print that looks more like a product ad and comes with no instructions. They have no instructions on assembling the loom except "if you have a life-size one". Don't provide any information about the ideas behind the project other than a very unconvincing table listing the number of hat clips and a baby blanket. Unlike other KB products, there is no information on shapes, sewing methods, or other instructions that I take for granted. It doesn't come with a single template to help you learn to weave (like all other looms!). KB already has an adjustable loom. What makes it special? As a knitter at the loom, you can finally zoom in and out to the smallest detail. There is huge potential in the socks space and there is really big potential in the blankets and toys categories as they are very wearable. The ability to work with two (or more) pieces and then simply combine them (like real knitting) or make intricate stitches is phenomenal. However, KB doesn't seem to know this. or at least unwilling to share it. This really should be marketed as a portable modular loom that can get quite large. It's not hard to carry a sock loom in your bag, but it is usually when you're weaving something bigger and have a giant stick the size of a tiny bat, or a toddler hula hoop. It's so wearable! The modular ability is also good for those who want to mind their own business but also want to teach. With 96 links you can create four machines for the production of children's socks. That would be a gold mine for a teacher. You can also make a very rigid loom (almost exactly the same as a sock loom) with straight pins (however the largest size for a fully rigid loom would be 20 pins) or fully flexible (maximum 32 pins). But again, the problem is that there are NO instructions on how to do this. They don't give you any real information. I understand why people complain that he seems weak. There is no good information on how to exert your cravings. I played for several hours to understand all this. Another page of instructions would have made this product more complete and ready to use. So if you are a beginner I would suggest trying the traditional loom first.
