Good tool at a good price; How to Check Calibration

I have it used the horizontal plane of this laser plane to determine where to add earth to give the yard a consistent very slight slope.I used a makeshift stadium pole made from a tape measure attached to an aluminum profile.Even with radiant Sunshine I could see the green lines on the stadium milestone at a distance of up to 25 feet from the laser by casting a shadow on the pole with my hand or the tablet I drew the bumps on.At 25 feet it was very dark from the laser but still visible enough to be read once I found it: later the same day, on de As sunlight faded, the laser became bright enough to be seen well at much greater distances. Stand. Unlike the other reviewer, I "locked" my level in the position it should be, so I wasn't too concerned about calibrating it. Just to be sure, I immediately checked its calibration indoors and found that its error is too small to even be noticeable (i.e. within 2-3mm of the laser linewidth) at 40 feet, which I think is sufficient for alignment was . Dirt. so good that I probably got lucky with this particular device. Here's how I tested it: Set up a bubble level on a tripod next to one of the walls in the room. Mark a horizontal line on the near wall; Turn the spirit level and mark the opposite wall. Move the tripod to the opposite wall and adjust the height until the line matches the level marked there. Then turn the spirit level and compare the laser line on the first wall with the original mark on it. The difference is the total round trip error from the first tuning point to the second and back. So if you see a 1/8 inch difference on two tripods 20 feet apart, the error is actually about 1/8 inch at 40 feet. I couldn't find enough error to measure it.) I used four old 1900mah AA batteries and only turned the laser on intermittently when needed for measurement or for short periods of work with frequent checks. After two days of operation and two nights of leaving the batteries in the device overnight (off course, of course), the batteries are about half discharged. If I had to keep the laser on all the time for work, I would bring a second set of batteries and charge them while using the first, just to be safe. However, if you occasionally use the laser for pencil marks or height markings and turn it off at other times, battery drain doesn't seem to be an issue. This spirit level comes with a small vertical scale for leveling floors or any surface you place the spirit level directly on. It is essentially a very short, self-supporting stadium pole with a zero mark at the level of the horizontal laser above the feet of the device. The spirit level also comes with a magnetic mount so you can easily mount the laser on iron surfaces. I have found that the magnets are more than enough to hold the laser securely to the door or sides of my fridge. The included soft padded case holds the laser and both accessories with moderate protection. You can even add an extra set of batteries. As some other reviewers point out, the tutorial is very short, but this tool is pretty basic and doesn't require anything else. The manual doesn't explain the floor level gauge or the magnetic mount, but if you can't figure them out, you probably don't need them. You can pay a lot more for such an instrument, but unless you really need more range in bright sunlight or don't want to calibrate it yourself, this device will do the same job.

Pros
  • ⭐MAGNETIC BRACKET AND ROBUST DESIGN: The included strong magnetic L-Bracket allows the laser level to be attached to metal surfaces and rotated 180Β°. The laser tool also has a 1/4"-20 mounting thread that fits a standard tripod or laser pole mount. In addition, the overall soft TPR rubber body and compact design make the laser tool more durable and portable.
Cons
  • Expensive
