Review on πŸ”ͺ Marples Chisel Sharpening Tools: Enhance Precision and Durability with Model 1786757 by Joel Miranda

Great set for beginners!

I ordered an Irwin chisel sharpening set on Saturday and received it next Monday with another prime listing, good delivery time. I'm new to sharpening my own chisel and iron so thought this was a good start for the price and the instructions are pretty basic. It's a bit difficult to set up the bevel at first, but it's just a learning curve. It sharpens a good edge on the bit fairly quickly, but the stone is a bit short so you don't get a long draw that takes a little longer than it probably should. The corners of my stone were chipped, but the surface was smooth and even. The included oil isn't enough to fully soak the stone, but it works well. The guide is adjustable, rotates smoothly, and is easily tightened with a flathead screwdriver or a coin such as a nickel or a quarter. I would give 5 stars if the stone was an inch or two longer and the corners weren't chipped. If you live near Sears you can get one for about half the price, but I live 50 miles from one so I'd spend more on gas than it was worth. Generally a good starter kit for the money and for beginners. Received it in the mail and sharpened 4 chisels in 30-45 minutes.
