I used these strips to soundproof a door. It was also easy to cut with scissors that weren't very sharp, and the paper was easy to peel and stick. Very sticky glue. Sticks to fingers like crazy. But it stuck very well to the door. As far as blocking out sound, it helps muffle things like conversations, clattering dishes, barking dogs, etc. Low-frequency noise or noise behind a door will still get through. So for high frequency noise it does its job quite well. Don't expect it to hold sounds 100%. Think more about turning down or lowering the volume of those annoying noises. The door also closes much harder/firmer. The hardest part was inserting it into the bottom of the door. I had to apply two coats of tape because the gap underneath is slightly wider than the gaps between the door and the frame. However, the tape doesn't quite reach the carpet underneath, but that's a good thing because the door doesn't close easily when it hits the floor.
