Review on πŸͺš KOWOOD Professional Woodworking Router Components by Jordan Weakland

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great starter kit.

Some reviewers compare them favorably to more expensive brands. I have neither the experience nor the economics to attempt this. The reason I bought them was because they are described as Kowood's top line that I see freely available at Revain. For remote and in-store work I have used them on my Dewalt 20V Fixed and Submersible. They deliver very pleasing results for my purposes such as hobby crafts and furniture finishing in carpentry. To be honest this is the only product I've bought from Kowood so I can't really compare the green and yellow series. In my experience I don't want to "downgrade" so I'm hoping the manufacturer will come out with some alternative green kits with a different profile - and I would sincerely appreciate 1/4" shanks as that's all I'm good at I've swapped the bearings between different blades There are two hex keys included that fit the mounting screws It's heavy (they're screwed tight) and sometimes I find a screw that's a little bent but I keep each one Screw paired with a threaded shank, came out just swapping out the bearings and had a happy success Again, is it easier with more expensive brands? Probably - you're paying for precision equipment. How well the bits cut, I have no complaints. You are very sharp and I have rarely burned the blade which is most likely due to user error. Also be careful when turning the lag he mounting screws which, as mentioned, can be locked fairly tightly the first time. I hope Kowood recognizes my investment in their product and offers more parts of the same quality in the future. It's understandable why there are expensive 1/2-inch shanks designed for heavy-duty woodworkers. However, there's no reason hobbyists can't approach these shapes, but at a slower pace, with 1/4-inch shanks in less powerful routers. The roundovers and bays are great and Kowood has provided a good starter kit with this set; But look at Freud's catalogue, for example, and you will be amazed at its diversity. If Kowood could assemble quality bits at this fair price, then surely they could categorize their products and allow us to purchase custom shapes to our liking for less than $40 of Freud's entry-level price. So I'm just grateful to this seller; When I got a router I needed a set of bits and I settled on this set. If I need a new uniform today or tomorrow, I hope Kowood is up to the challenge.
