I have (4) four external USB drives. which I will leave permanently connected to this hub; I turn on individual switches when I want to copy data to this drive. These are the drives I copy my computer data to (I don't want to lose anything!). I back up my computer at least once a day. I've used a powered hub with fewer ports before and it worked great. When I replaced this old one with this new one, I found that this new one works great, with the same transfer speed as my old one. I have four (4) other external hard drives (also 4TB) that I will transfer some of my music files to. I have no doubt they will work great too. I don't know how many hard drives can transfer data at the same time. As I said, I transmitted data to four at the same time. Currently I don't have to try to transfer data to more than four. But what I really like about this new hub is that I can keep all my drives (or even just cables) connected to the network. All the time I leave the hub connected to my computer and can only turn on the drives I want to use when I want to use them. You can't miss the bright blue light that shows which ports are enabled. To be honest, I cannot praise this powered hub highly enough. At the current price here at Revain ($36.99 WITHOUT further discounts), I think it's excellent value for money. hubs), mainly due to the large number of self-powered ports.
