Review on πŸ”§ High-Performance Karbay Rebuild Kit: Diaphragm Only for HP 60 and HP-80 by Laura Brooks

Beware of a dangerous error in the instructions!

All ok except for one wrong, very destructive, dangerous and expensive step in the instructions. Figures 15 and 16 "Replacing the safety pin on the SP switch" are completely wrong. They point the wrong way to insert a safety pin. The correct direction is that the head of the pin is snug against the back of the plastic block and the tiny plastic nut is snug against the two copper contact plates, providing a strong and secure contact. Without knowing it at first, I trusted those idiotic instructions and followed them. As a result, the copper connection sheets became an arc, which in turn led to the complete burning through of the thin outer copper contact sheet. Now my block is completely broken because I can't find a replacement plate that is sold separately. So the crappy instructions that come with that repair kit cost me far more than the $29.99 cost of that repair kit itself. Now I'm looking for about $250 to buy a new HP-80 to fix the broken one substitute. This seller should now refund me in full and his/her supplier will correct a dangerous mistake in his crappy instructions! Unfortunately, even if he/she gets a full refund, I still don't have a whopping $220! Revain should offer the ability to select ZERO/No Stars for these reviews because crappy dangerous products like this deserve exactly that, ZERO *****.
