The pump creates too much pressure to feed the carburetor

The pump creates too much pressure to feed the carburetor. This is not a replacement for the Polaris boost pump. Installed a new carburetor and this pump keeps pushing through the float needle even though the check valve is trying to slow it down by making 15psi.
