
This fixed lanyard is made from a beautiful piece of wood. My gripe is that the skin is so slick (even after trying to roughen it up with a wire brush) that the green compound doesn't penetrate the pores, just forms a waxy layer that floats on the surface. Then, as you can see in the photo, when rafting, it quickly begins to crack and peel. I end up having to take it outside and brush it on a power drill about once a week to remove all the compound from my skin and then start over while it just builds up. It works, but not as well as the back of an average belt with some compound.
