Review on πŸš— ACECAR Upgrade Dual Mode Head-up Display - OBD2/GPS Windshield Projector for Speed, Overspeed Warning, Mileage Measurement, Water Temperature, Direction - Perfect for All Vehicles (M12) by Andy Baudoin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works well, it's clearly visible in the sun and in sunglasses. GPS temporarily disabled after being exposed to the hot sun

I chose this one because it would work with OBD or GPS and I wasn't sure if it was OBD II compliant although it was OBDII -certified was called. Of course, OBD doesn't work in my 2006 Xterra. But the GPS worked perfectly. I really just needed speed and timing and he has the ability to show just that. Put on your reading glasses to read the manual and study it first before delving into it. The speed was 5 too much for 70 so I changed the default 107 to 102 and now the speed matches perfectly. I tested it in the dark and in bright sunlight with and without sunglasses. The lettering was a good size, easy to read and not distracting. Switching from OBD to GPS was difficult at first, but eventually I got the hang of it and it was easy for me to set it up. Added a photo of him standing in the sun. Update in a month. Because it's next to the windshield, if the car sits in the sun for an hour or sometimes less, the GPS won't work until you drive off and let the car cool down. So the speed shows 0. Offer to cover them if the car is left in the hot sun. Even an outside temperature of 80 F was enough for the GPS to stop working. Reduced rating from 5 to 3.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
