My husband and I finished our dining room, kitchen and hallway in 6 hours. We used a child's toothbrush to "rub" the paint into the solution. It penetrates all the cracks in the mortar. The paint wiped off the tiles easily with a damp cloth, even after we left them for an hour. But our tile is shiny smooth porcelain, that might make a difference. We went over a very light bone grout discolored by heavy traffic stains. It covered all areas evenly in one coat, even the area my husband painted with a very dark "espresso" which I didn't like, too dark for our tile. We love the finished look! Like new again!
