I have a 2006 Tacoma and started having problems with the starter motor about a year ago. It always rolled over, but sometimes took over 100 firing attempts (I couldn't always find a hill to park!). The problem was worst when it was very hot or very cold, mild weather was great for contacts but if they expanded or contracted too much they wouldn't go. I would say my daily starts are in the high range, averaging around 6-12 starts a day, job to job. After procrastinating on the starter motor replacement, I installed this TYC model. Simple but time-consuming installation. and now the truck lights up immediately. Even when scrolling, the sound is 100% different from my old one. I've been using it for about a month and no problems so far.
