Review on 🌍 Ckitze USA to Europe Travel Power Plug Adapter: Stay Connected, Anywhere, Anytime! by George Jacobson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not exactly EU size

This is a cheap adapter and you might find it useful if you are traveling in mainland Europe, but it has a few problems: (a) Although this one and many others like it older adapters are advertised as US to Europe plug adapters they are not accurate. The size of the prongs is Hong Kong, not European. European points are similar but thicker. As a result, forks don't exactly fit many forks, especially ones that have been heavily used. If you need true European size plugs, please purchase Schuko Heavy Duty Grounding Receptacle Adapter (USA, America - Europe, Germany) - 6 pcs. However, not all sockets are Schuko sockets. (b) The adapter is not polarized and therefore cannot be used to replace later American plugs where one pin is wider than the other. (c) When reused, the adapter may separate into two parts, one of which will remain in the socket and the other will remain in your hands. To remove the product from the outlet, you must turn off the power at the outlet. The Schuko adapters mentioned above are much better made and not easy to disassemble. Polarized American plugs and three-pin grounded American plugs are also suitable. I've looked for similar adapters myself without the above problems, but haven't found any (except for Schuko) yet. As a result, I carry several of these devices and several Schucko adapters with me and generally do my work with a certain amount of care. If you have Apple electronics (laptop, iPhone, etc.), use Apple adapters. They are well made and the spikes are the right size. (The Apple MB974ZM/B World Travel Adapter Kit includes adapters for all worldwide travel.) However, Apple adapters only work with Apple transformers. If you want to use the Apple extension cable that came with your laptop, you'll need a polarity adapter with a three-pronged connector. Again, the Schuko adapter is ok, but not this one.

Pros
  • Good price
Cons
  • Good but not great
