A harbinger of change - USB Type-C is on the way!

Not long ago I didn't have any devices with USB Type-C ports. A few months later I have at least three computers with USB Type-C support. Since I travel with these devices, I had to set up doing what is included in my kit. From my point of view, I'm lucky that each of my three new computers also has a USB 3.0 A port. The USB 3.0 port allows me to use externally powered USB 3.0 hubs and larger hard drives. I'm still learning the details of USB Type-C. I know it offers a lot of performance, but only experimentation will tell me what works with it and what doesn't. I've used a lot of USB devices over the course of my work, which explains why I have multiple USB-powered 10- and 24-port hubs. For use with webcams, 2.5" external hard drives and a random dongle, this StarTech product works perfectly. That it also has a pass-through C-type is a definite plus, although I haven't used it yet. As always, StarTech products are well made. It also has a 2 year guarantee. This hub was an instant addition to my travel kit, along with a traditional self-powered USB 3.0 hub. As I said, so far it works without problems. Jerry
