first of all: yes, it works. The parts that work work great. Can read and write both enabled devices, as well as identify and read specific memory from several other NFC devices I've had. Caveats: This board is actually pretty limited. First, it *can* not communicate directly with other active NFC devices (like a phone, another RC522 card, a card scanner at work), only passive ones, like the included key fob and card. If you use the NFC phone system to write to devices that come with the card, they will *permanently* not be able to work with the card. Something seems wrong with the filesystem or something. The library is quite feature rich, but still has a few gaps that the developers are still working on. For best results, you should use passive Mifare Classic NFC devices such as those available at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZYOR7P.
