We recently installed them on two doors in our home to prevent a family member with dementia from leaving. It's fabulous! It takes two hands to open the lock and there is no clearance for the door. The cable bolts we tried allowed too much "give" and pulling on the door caused the door skin to come loose etc. Just not with these! We are so impressed that we are showing and recommending them to anyone who has a loved one with dementia. We chose a brass color that goes well with the texture of the door. The door does not open and there is no "kickback". The screws went into the side frame of the door making it even stronger. Absolutely recommendable and I would buy again!
