Review on πŸ”© Amoolo Twist Drill: Cobalt Stainless Steel by Marcus Cano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are high quality cobalt drill bits. Go SLOWLY to drill through the stainless steel.

WHEN DRILLING THROUGH A STAINLESS ENVIRONMENT: Based on years of experience, to drill stainless steel or other high density metals, you need to move slowly and with great pressure. First hit the metal with a center punch to create a nub guide. Start with a small piece first, like 1/8" or 9/64" if possible to make things easier. Then slowly push down on the drill bit until it starts to gnaw through the metal. If you start seeing spiraling, wavy coils of metal coming out, DO IT RIGHT! If you see smoke, you are driving TOO FAST! If you start fast, even with oil, you'll burn the racquet and ruin it very quickly. If you learn to slow the pace of drilling, any good drill will last a long time. Technique is EVERYTHING, my friend. Also: I recommend 10w30 synthetic motor oil over cutting fluid because the chemicals in cutting fluid are caustic and will eventually cause unwanted bore corrosion. Synthetic engine oil will not work. I didn't know what to expect from them, whether they would be good or bad, but they turned out great. These are definitely genuine cobalt coated bits at an unbeatable price.
