So far this has worked very well for me. I installed an alternator in my 2002 Ranger 2.3 with about 150,000 miles because my old alternator was starting to flicker the headlights in my truck. I was nervous about buying this alternator but was very short on cash and found this unit to be a lot cheaper than other stationary parts stores. When I first installed it I noticed a slight hum coming from the generator, but that noise has since gone away on its own. More importantly, this alternator solved my flickering problem. If I had had the money at the time of purchase I would have bought a large alternator for a better warranty and easier replacement if something went wrong. After 5 months (3000 miles) of driving I had no problems. I hope this alternator is reliable enough to last at least a few more years. I will update this review if I encounter any issues. If you have the same Ranger as me, I would recommend purchasing a replacement upper radiator hose, belt and possibly an idler pulley and idler pulleys before getting to work.
