Works great every time I boil eggs. Start with cold tap water in a saucepan, allowing time for the eggs and eggs before turning on the fire. Within 15 minutes the water will begin to boil (set the timer) and watch the line move towards the hard boiled egg line for perfectly hard boiled eggs. Remove from heat and immediately pour boiling water, adding cold water to the saucepan several times to cool the eggs quickly. With this timer I never get a green line around the yolk. My mother has used one of these for years; I inherited her egg timer about 30 years ago and about a month ago it finally broke because the clear coat was fogging up and you couldn't read the lines. Quite a long review of something so simple, but it shows how much I love using it.
