I purchased this box to house an electronics circuit that will be part of an electric train display. It is inexpensive compared to other boxes offered online from other sources. It appears to be well made. Since this box will be used indoors I cannot comment on it's waterproof qualities, other than to guess that it is more likely splash proof, It does not look like it would survive immersion. I do not see "warmth" as a relevant feature. The electronics that will be inside the box will dissipate very little heat so I expect that its being totally closed will not be a problem
