It is very helpful for us as we can get an overview of our account base in one place instead of having several spreadsheets or databases. I do not like how you cannot export your historical data - so this makes me feel limited when trying out new tools. You have to be careful about what kind of reports you want to run because there are some limitations depending on which report type (e.g. aggregate vs. detailed). We were able to create automated emails where we would send weekly updates to clients who hadn't been contacted within 90 days prior.
