I bought putty and used it to install an overhead vent on a cargo trailer/RV. I used this between the vent flange and the roof. That was enough for 1 breath, and there are many more left. Use putty for fiberglass and metal roofs, buttle for rubber roofs. Be careful not to order the wrong one. After installing the roof vent, I overlapped the flange edges and bolt heads with Dicor sealant, using up nearly the entire tube of sealant. I haven't had any leaks.
