Review on πŸ’Ž Revolutionary Crystal Slow Setting Layered Casting: Non-Toxic Magic! by Anthony Heinrichs

Super clear, almost flawless

While this resin gives near perfect results, I love it or hate it. The love is evident when you compare the end product to each other. hate . . . takes a damn long time to heal! Basically, this is not for inpatients and probably not for beginners. The mix ratio instructions were confusing at first but I got used to the 3:1 ratio, although after a day using the 1:1 resin I switched to this product and completely forgot it was 3:1. You would think it would become brittle once it dries but instead it will never harden enough to be used. It was like moving, non-sticky, rustling rubber, you know! I would recommend this resin if you are patient, have transparency, and may need somewhere other than your normal workspace to work. You don't have to just leave drips on the nonstick surface to pick it up the next day, it will sometimes be sticky for up to 3 days! Now that the weather is colder, I occasionally use a coffee mug warmer to preheat and loosen my thicker resins, but in this case I usually place the entire mold on top after it's been poured for about an hour. Because it has a very low viscosity, it's best to wait until the next day before attempting to move the mold to avoid spilling resin. I sometimes notice a ripple pattern in thick, clear fills, but heating the coffee seems to stop that. It could be using a heat gun that is causing patterns. So instead of getting frustrated after a long 3 day wait, it's best not to use a heat gun.

Pros
  • Adhesives, sealants and lubricants
Cons
  • There are even more interesting possibilities.
