I'm a boxer so apart from 4 months of taekwondo classes which I took when I was 8 I'm a complete novice when it comes to kicking. I only recently switched to Muay Thai and the learning curve has been steep. I kept slipping and hurting myself and decided to give it a try. I bought them mainly for the slip resistance, but the gel padding made my bad kicks a lot less dangerous. I also thought at first that I wouldn't like the design, but I changed my mind as soon as I took them out of the box. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because while the compression aspect in the crotch area is perfect, the actual ankle/lower leg area is looser than I would like. Right here it looks more like an old sock than any compression gear. All in all a great product and would buy again.
