This game is surprisingly interesting for a casual gamer like me. The instructions take a few minutes to learn, but are complex enough to be interesting. I've been looking for a good portable 2 player game and this is my favorite. There are two games here, one on each side of each blank. Island A is a bit simpler and has the advantage of having a set number of turns (15 each); However, Island B's scoring is a bit more similar to that of settlers, as it includes victory points for longest road and largest army. It's a bit more open and rewarding as you really feel like you're competing with the other players. The card sheets are very colorful and beautiful. Once you have received the instructions, there is no need to refer back to them as the important information is at the top of each sheet. You can put it all (along with some golf pencils) in a sandwich bag and take it with you wherever you go. Honestly, I prefer these settlers.
