This thing is magic! If I made more apple butter from scratch and had to choose between this grinder and a unicorn, I would choose this grinder. Serious. It's also a huge savings in prep time. It would take me at least an hour to core apples, and then fifteen minutes. With the grinder, I just cut the apples into quarters before cooking. I was able to quickly grind over 10 pounds of apples into over 17 cups of applesauce (during their brief stop before they turned into apple butter). When I say fast, I mean it took less than 5 minutes at this grinder. Stupidly fast and super comfortable. I used a medium sized disc (Medium 3mm). He prevented all but one of the seeds from being crushed. I only emptied (scooped out with a spoon) the seeds/shell once during the operation. Trick? Actually it doesn't exist. There is a very small learning curve for the assembly (I guess it doesn't detract from the IKEA assembly). Okay, a few issues - mainly because I've never used a meat grinder before. I hope this helps another user: although the pictures in the brochure show the pot hooks pointing up, they are actually pointing down. Insert the disc where the hole in the center looks like a tiny bracket. Insert blade/handle attachment. Make sure the blade/handstock is in the holder on the disc. Right now the blade/handle mount is not quite right. But you have springs around the B-pillar. Position the shank of your blade/handle so the larger/thick end can hook under the hook in the pan. Then press and hook the other side. It's a bit uncomfortable, but once you've done it, you won't have any more problems.
