Review on 🔆 Dewaxed Super Blonde Shellac Flakes - 1lb (16oz) by Kyle Miller

High-quality shellac flakes, very clean, without any foreign substances. Dissolves well in multiple cuts. I use Everclear for dissolving food (expensive) and then denatured alcohol for projects where no food contact is expected (cheaper). The finish is almost translucent with a very faint yellow tint that goes well with more modern designs where the reddish tint may not be ideal, it shows off the grain well and creates a lasting finish. It can be sanded to 240 grit or higher for an ultra-smooth finish and can be polished to a mirror finish. I like the flexibility of being able to control my own cut versus store bought pre-thinned shellac. I also no longer have to worry about buying an old tin can to throw away, it's always fresh. In the photo you can see 4 coats of 1.5lb shellac on base plywood next to a console table I built, the original plywood color was similar to Baltic Birch. I highly recommend these cereals.
