Review on GA2 Fat Ergon Grips by Rick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good grips with a terrible hardware failure

Selling my XC bike with Ergon GA3 grips (the ones with the "wings") because I've been riding more enduro trails lately. Put them on a new enduro bike so I have better hand contact on the descents. After adjustment they feel pretty good so I have no complaints. The numbness has reduced compared to my old Oury but hasn't gone away like it did on my GA3. BIG VS – Ergon grips are designed so you have to move them a lot (on the trail) to get the angle you want, depending on your riding and cockpit setup. The supplied hex head screws (M4 x 12) are very easy to round off and due to the small size of the head (closer to the size of an M3 head) they are not standard and easily accessible for replacement. If you don't mount the crank just before that, you'll get angry and curse Ergon for selling a good crank. LITTLE AGAINST - As with all Ergon grips, the end caps fall out. Recognize it, accept it and accept it.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
