Installation went well as expected. When I unfolded the device and turned it over, I heard something rattling inside. I took it apart and found a small white plastic driveshaft dangling inside. I don't know how it fell out, but I had to disassemble a new optical drive to put it back in. I did nothing but install the old daughterboard that is on top of the device. I would test yours before installing them on your machine just to be on the safe side. Seems to be working fine now. But a big pain to understand and fix.
