Review on Refreshing Red: Brita Pacifica Water Filter Pitcher - 10 Cup Capacity by Sara Hughes

Although I like my Brita Pitcher it should warn me with a red light when I needed to change the filter. I don't remember ever seeing an emergency light. It should be green when it's good, yellow when I should start buying a replacement, and red when it should be replaced. I've had it for a year now and the light of any color has never come on. I didn't really think about it until I started chatting with my roommates about how strange it was that we still hadn't been warned about the filter change. I then went through my orders to see if I could find information on how long the filter typically lasts when I realized it had been a year! Don't know what to do about it? Should I get a brand new jug or just a new filter?
