Refreshing Red: Brita Pacifica Water Filter Pitcher - 10 Cup Capacity Review

I've had one of these pitchers before and it's worked great - lasted many years but broke recently so ordered exactly the same new one - have it and great not holding properly - the fill valve broke and wouldn't stay on and has since fallen off somewhere and we can't find it and takes forever to fill.

Works great as a water filter - good, clean water. But as a finished product - crap. The plastic of the case and lid is thin and fragile. I broke the first case, cracked it, just put it on the ground, and I tore off the "ears" of the second, simply removing it. Not surprising, but it works for filtering.

, There is a small piece of plastic that acts as a flow valve at the end of the spout, it turned out to be broken and the piece was never put back into the mold as a body where the valve sits broken. There's also a problem, if you fill it up and try to use it right away, the water comes out at the top, adding unfiltered water to the fill. Not perfect.

This jar is bigger than I thought but it's great. The filter is a bit tricky to put in the first time, but that's because I've never done it before. The pitcher isn't too big to fit in my fridge, but it's big enough that I don't have one. to refill it every time I fill up my water bottle.

Does his job perfectly. Some may need smaller size as it can be heavy. I struggled putting the lid on not knowing it's an easy placement and I think the suction keeps it in place. Very easy. I didn't like the small filler cap so don't use it. I only drink water and a lot. And find it refreshingly light and enough for my use. Great tasting water, which isn't easy in Florida.

Although I like my Brita Pitcher it should warn me with a red light when I needed to change the filter. I don't remember ever seeing an emergency light. It should be green when it's good, yellow when I should start buying a replacement, and red when it should be replaced. I've had it for a year now and the light of any color has never come on. I didn't really think about it until I started chatting with my roommates about how strange it was that we still hadn't been warned about the filter…
