These fans don't use normal fan pins for control. They use Thermaltake brand pins. So you can't connect it to your motherboard and your motherboard can't drive PWM properly. Yes, the Thermaltake module plugs into the motherboard, but the only way to control the fans is to download Thermaltake's TT RGB plus software. The software does not allow temperature-dependent control of the fan curves. So it's either fully automatic, or you statically control the amount of PWM by maintaining fan speed and 100%, or whatever you decide, constant and at all thermal levels. This is bad because most people don't want their fans to run at 100% when the CPU and GPU are at low temperatures. Then the RGB control is damn difficult. It's not easy to understand and the software doesn't recognize the hardware properly. In terms of noise, the fans are relatively quiet when idling, but get quite loud when the CPU is heavily loaded. This is not good as you don't need to increase the speed when the processor hits 100% for a short time. Here, the inability to adjust fan curves hurts the overall hardware design. The RGB is nice but I can't figure out how to change the color of the inner ring from red. Overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this fan setup unless it's very cheap or unless Thermaltake improves the software significantly. Also note that I use this for my heatsink fans to cool my GPU and CPU.
