I checked the quality of the tap water and was alarmed when I got 322ppm. I bought it thinking it would help purify my water. I've filled and emptied this pitcher 4 times with a charcoal filter and then re-evaluated the water - I've gotten inconsistent readings of 199-220ppm. Ideal drinking water should have a concentration of 0-50ppm and activated carbon filtration should produce water with a concentration of 50-100ppm. I just have a bad filter? Brita appears to be a reliable brand. Also, don't forget to check the dimensions of your fridge. Two shelves in our fridge are adjustable but this one still didn't fit so one shelf had to be removed.
