Review on ๐Ÿชš Enhance Woodworking Efficiency with the POWERTEC 70259 Dust Collection Fittings Network and Shop Dust Collector Systems by Andrew Cramer

works well but a bit tricky to use.

Installation just completed by connecting Ridgid Table Saw, Ridgid Miter Saw, Wen Plane, Bosch Router Table and Ryobi Grinder with Jet 1ยฝ HP Vortex Dust Collector. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this is a poorly designed system as you need a connector at each connection and not a fitting like PVC piping where the pipes enter the fitting, but it is the same as any other system , which I have considered. . After many aggravations, the system is complete and functioning normally. Some of the issues I've found are: 1. Couplings are VERY tight and difficult to connect fittings to pipes, especially mufflers2. The illustration shows that the first fitting that attaches to the dust collector is a 90ยฐ elbow. DO NOT USE THE 2 90 RIGHTS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. It also shows that the Y-connector for each machine is under the main pipe. I followed the picture and it worked fine when I was using a tool that primarily created sawdust, but the first time I used a planer the larger 90 shavings came in and the shavings that fell back went into the Y slots the other connections between plane and fitting at an angle of 90 degrees. I had to take the 90 off and replace it with a 2 45 and twist the Y piece up to prevent clogging and it seems to be working fine. I don't know why they even include 2 90 because they are useless because the internal dimension of 90 decreases at the bend where 2 45; stay the same.3. I bought a Powertec anti-static flexible PVC dust collection hose to connect to each tool. It was significantly more expensive than a standard hose and more difficult to connect to fittings and the machine. If I had to do it again I would just buy a stock hose which works great. Conclusion: This is the cheapest way to increase the system. Most other kits from other vendors may seem cheaper, but they don't include the pipe. Each 3 foot piece of clear tubing costs about $10, so one tubing included in this set costs $80. Extra blast mufflers and Y-connectors are about $8 each, so it's easy... do the math. I'm happy with my setup and would recommend this for small shops.
