🪚 Enhance Woodworking Efficiency with the POWERTEC 70259 Dust Collection Fittings Network and Shop Dust Collector Systems Review

Pros: Easy to adapt to shop layout and 2 1/2 inch diameter is great for my small shop. Seems they REALLY want you to buy nozzle adapters with a 4" connection so you can connect them to your 2 1/2" dust collection system.

I have been sanding wooden jigsaw puzzles with ribbon loops. This kit provided me with everything I needed to collect dust in my shop. I combined it with the POWERTEC DC5370 wall-mounted dust collector. I especially like the blast flaps so you can focus suction on whatever gear you're using. I was very happy with the facility.

The hose is excellent, strong and clear. The ends of the fittings are exactly the same diameter as the pipe, which requires a special connector that is included. This approach has been corrected in PVC and ABS installations and central vacuum systems. But not this set. The 90 degree turns are a real disappointment. They have an inside diameter of 1 inch and are useless. The rest of the kit is ok.

So I ordered this kit to build a dust collection system in my garage, all of my blast gates work fine but the screws and drywall anchors that came with it were useless and I only have 2 1/2 wood screws direct in tunnels. With this kit, I'm still wondering why the 4" to 2 1/2" adapter doesn't have an accompanying 4" coupler, which seems like an oversight or design flaw. Why are there no clamps?

2 issues with this particular item: 1 - It ripped during installation. The clamp was barely tight when *clicked. hairline crack. 2 - I will continue to rate all of this company's products 1 star until they get their head out of their ass in terms of promotional sticker placement. They make tubes for vacuum systems. STOP putting non-removable stickers directly on the PIPE CONNECTIONS. I can't be the only customer to tell you that for heaven's sake.

I thought buying a kit would be an easy way to save time and money, but I was horribly wrong. Although the plumbing is good and the connections are good, the most important part of a kit like this is the blast gate. And even after a month of operation, two of the five explosion protection gates do not close completely. This makes the whole system pretty much useless as they only offer a 30 day guarantee. I bought and installed this system. Remember that EACH connector/hose requires multiple couplers to connect. All pipe and fitting ends are the same diameter, therefore a socket is required at EVERY joint. This appears to be very poor engineering/design - it appears that the couplings may have been molded onto the ends of the fittings when they were made, as each end required them. Installation just completed by connecting Ridgid Table Saw, Ridgid Miter Saw, Wen Plane, Bosch Router Table and Ryobi Grinder with Jet 1½ HP Vortex Dust Collector. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this is a poorly designed system as you need a connector at each connection and not a fitting like PVC piping where the pipes enter the fitting, but it is the same as any other system , which I have considered. .
