Review on 🪚 Enhance Woodworking Efficiency with the POWERTEC 70259 Dust Collection Fittings Network and Shop Dust Collector Systems by Stetson Olsen

I bought and installed this system. Remember that EACH connector/hose requires multiple couplers to connect. All pipe and fitting ends are the same diameter, therefore a socket is required at EVERY joint. This appears to be very poor engineering/design - it appears that the couplings may have been molded onto the ends of the fittings when they were made, as each end required them. The kit contains 22 couplers, just enough to fit the fittings provided, but there is not a single coupler left to join/extend pipes or use with additional fittings that you can order separately. I needed an additional Y-fitting, which also required 3 additional connections (total hardware cost for just one Y-fitting was almost $40 since it also required 3 connections at $9 each!). Additionally, due to their design, 90 degree elbows cannot be used in a 2-1/2" system. The 90 degree elbow is designed so that the radius extends beyond the inner bend which limits airflow to about 1 inch (very poor design /engineering - who wants to fit a 2-1/2" system, just to limit it to 1" at each 90 degree bend?) I had to use a Dremel tool and a half circle rasp to carve the inside of each 90 degree fitting to open up the passage even more. I recommend planning your system very carefully and providing connections, fittings, etc. for exactly what you need. If you have a large system I would recommend ordering 2 of these kits as it can be MUCH cheaper than buying additional connectors/connectors that you may need. A final note to round out my experience is the extra connectors I ordered separately, came with large permanent stickers placed right on the end of the fitting where you need to connect them. Worst place to put a sticker and worst place to remove a sticker (took ages). Hopefully one of the manufacturers will either put them where they put them or change the sticker material to something easily removable.
