Not suitable for removing pits from avocado skins. A good chef's knife and serving spoon will easily replace this tool, but being fairly inexpensive I can recommend it for its excellent scooping ability. "Easy to clean" gets 5 stars. As for "easy to use," it's only good for extracting the flesh of an avocado in one piece. While it's not exactly expensive in terms of value for money, I'd be more comfortable with the $5 price tag. Would I buy this avocado tool again? No, I wouldn't. SIMPLE METHOD TO HAVE HALF, REMOVE THE SEED AND REMOVE THE DELICIOUS SOFTNESS OF THE AVOCADO: Use a chef's knife to lightly cut the skin and pulp, twist and separate the two halves, and then break the half stones with the sharp end of the knife ( protect your hand with a folded kitchen towel), then simply twist and lift the seed. Squeeze the seed on the blunt side of the knife; Your hand should not be near the sharp side of the blade. Use a serving spoon to separate the avocado flesh from the skin. Done and $7.00 saved!
